Resident Benefits

Family Self-Sufficiency Program

This program helps selected participants of public housing and Section 8 set goals for themselves to work toward independence from public assistance. Whether that goal is to own a home, complete a college education, or buy a car, counselors help the participants move step-by-step toward their reaching their goals. It also allows a mechanism to set money aside for any financial needs to reach their goals. For more information, contact the MHA FSS Coordinator.

Support for Success

MHA opens the door for adults to complete their GED or pursue a post-secondary education, linking residents to local service providers. MHA also links participants to numerous social service agencies and community partners to help improve employment possibilities - like learning valuable interviewing skills, learning how to dress for success, learning how to establish and follow a household budget, and where to go for financial aid.
